C3IA hit the right spot with Dexters

A youth football team has thanked its sponsors after the funding led to an entire new league being created.

Cyber-security company C3IA Solutions backed Dexter Sports’ Under 11 Lions, who are based at Canford Heath in Poole.

The support helped them train indoors throughout the winter months and subsequently reach the county cup final which was unfortunately abandoned due to COVID-19 and the lockdown.

However, on the back of the investment from C3IA coach Greg Partridge was also able to launch an indoor Futsal league – the only FA affiliated Youth Futsal league in the county.

The indoor sport comes from South America and is credited with producing the globally recognised technically brilliant players from the region.

To thank the company Greg presented its security director Matt Horan with a presentation plaque for the office wall.

Greg, a Royal Marine, said: “I knew the company had many military connections and I asked if they’d consider sponsoring us. C3IA kindly said they would and although last season ended early due to the pandemic we did really well, even reaching the Dorset County cup final.”

“Last season, on the back of the support from C3IA we launched the Dexters Dorset Futsal League. The league gave exposure of Futsal along with what turned out to be a quality competition to other teams and children in the county.” Following the presentation and on hearing the benefits of Futsal for developing players, C3IA have now agreed to sponsor the aforementioned only FA affiliated Dorset Youth Futsal League for the next 3 years. This was following a highly likely cut in future funding by the FA.

Matt Horan, a former Royal Signaller, said: “We have sponsored many sports teams and individuals and it allows us to put a bit back. “When Greg contacted us we were very happy to help and it’s great to see so many kids benefitting from organised sport.

The Futsal league will resume again in November and will run to June next year. The league is growing and will, this season include 12 teams from across Dorset.

Greg finished off by saying “None of it would have been possible without C3IA Solutions.”
